Succession Group provides financial advice and wealth management services and is responsible for over £7bn of clients’ assets. The company is backed by highly respected private equity investors and has previously won Insider’s South West Dealmaking Company of the Year award, demonstrating the credibility that our commercial finance team has established in the marketplace. Growth by acquisition is a key pillar of Succession’s strategy with 47 acquisitions being completed over the past 47 months. We are seeking a versatile candidate to support the existing commercial finance team through the next phase of our organic and acquisition growth strategy.
This will be an exciting, challenging and fast-paced role that requires enthusiasm, a strong technical background and a commercial acumen.
The role will provide exposure throughout the investment process and across the different teams within Succession. We particularly require support in the finance integration phase which includes preparing management accounts for the acquired businesses. In addition, there is a significant amount of data analysis required meaning that candidates with experience of analysing data in Excel will have an advantage.
The team comprises six experienced people meaning that the role will be well-supported and full training will be given. We are looking for a candidate who is keen to progress within the company over the coming years as we expect significant growth.
Whilst you will be primarily based at Succession’s modern headquarters in Plymouth, you will occasionally (one day per month on average) need to travel throughout the UK to different parts of our business.
But, it’s not just about what you bring to us…
You will also receive a competitive salary and benefits package including Death in Service, flexible working policy, study and further training support as well as opportunities for career progression to match your career aims and ambitions and future share incentive schemes.
To be successful in this role you will need:
A recognised professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or close to achieving this).
Strong technical accounting skills.
Experience of working in a fast moving environment.
Comfortable dealing with and influencing senior professionals.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Enthusiasm and flexibility to deal with a wide range of simple to complex tasks.
Excellent MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word skills.
Experience of preparing management accounts (using Netsuite) would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Corporate finance, M&A and financial services experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
